Target Audience

All Courses

All our courses are designed for audiences who meet the description in this section:

The courses are designed for bankers, lawyers and others involved in the negotiation or administration of international loan financings, or in the review of such transactions, whether for the purpose of investment or trading, or for regulatory purposes

The courses are generally designed to be able to be used by those with no prior experience of the subject matter as well as by experienced users. The courses are useful for beginners, as well as to those with practical experience but who have not previously had any in depth formal training on the topics, to help them to fill in the inevitable gaps and to give them a framework to consolidate their practical knowledge. Any course requiring prior experience details the level of experience expected. Those with extensive experience may find the course library particularly useful as that will enable them to focus on their own areas of concern

Technical Requirements. To access the courses you will need a computer with access to the internet, and with a soundcard and speakers. You will also need Adobe Flash Player and Internet Explorer 6 or above, or Safari 2 or above or Firefox 1 or above.

Prospective users must be sufficiently computer literate to use the internet to access the courses and submit assignments (involving attaching word documents to emails)

Study Courses - In Depth option

In addition to the above, the following additional requirement applies to users of the study courses if they elect to follow the in depth option. This option involves a time commitment of at least 30 hours over a four to six week period and delegates need to be able to commit sufficient time to the course to undertake the assignments.

Key Facts Option

For users who are unable to commit this amount of time, or who are not looking for such in depth training, the "key facts" route to the study courses may be of interest. This route generally requires a commitment of around 15 hours over a four to six week period. The key facts route follows the same curriculum as the study courses but

  • there is no compulsory reading - the core of the course simply involves working through the nuggets and their handouts
  • the quizzes are different - the questions relate solely to the material in the nuggets, and do not require knowledge of information which would have been obtained from external study
  • for those who require continuing professional development points, they will be eligible for fewer points than the in depth course

Course Library

There is no minimum time commitment for use of the course library, which is available for delegates to use as and when convenient for them.
